It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
