Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Documentary

The "Taken" star has given his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of immunizations and praises former government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for allegations that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with conspiracy-prone radio host the Infowars host. He wrote online hailing Neeson's participation in the project.

An Unequivocal Statement

A spokesperson for Neeson have released a statement strongly denying implications that he holds anti-vax views.

"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the global charity highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement continued that the star had no hand in the documentary's narrative and that questions about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Central Assertions Featured in the Documentary

In the film, the voiceover provided by Neeson includes several provocative points:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
  • It argues that "research has become highly politicized."
  • Kennedy is featured stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Controversy and Recent Issues

It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is echoed in the film, even with a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation confirming no such link has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

The film concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the end of our story. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
