The goalkeeper Was rarely tested to make during the opening 45 but then called into action from an opponent's curling effort. His sliding challenge on an Albanian attacker demonstrated excellent reading of the game. Six out of ten

The debutant Challenged against the opposition's biggest threat in their forward. Operated in a central role to begin with then shifted to the flank after a teammate came on. 7/10

John Stones Pushed into midfield when in possession, a familiar role before. Sometimes lacked urgency in possession with the tactic was shelved after the break. 6

The tall defender A nuisance at set pieces, as always, but may be an alternative for his teammate in defense instead of his partner. A loose pass in the second half nearly resulted in a goal from Albania. 6

Nico O’Reilly Another composed showing from the youngster following his first cap versus another side. Saka was unable to take the most of an exquisite touch over the Albania defence. His position looks secure already. 7

The newcomer His maiden beginning for his country. Slightly loose in possession but his dangerous set-pieces were a threat. A handy pace-controller for the boss to utilize versus defensive opponents. Cautioned for a rash foul. Six

The midfielder Set-pieces from corners and free-kicks were dangerous. Enjoyed room to move in left midfield yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Granted a deserved rest around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced role down the right and did plenty of defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance and dragged an attempt high. Withdrawn in the closing stages by Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort smartly stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, he was forced to provide width down the right side but his crosses from the touchline varied in quality. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. Six

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes at international level. His first a trademark opportunist's goal while the second a superb headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, his form is unwavering and England have every chance in future competitions when he's in the team. 8/10

The attacker Struggled to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in from a teammate but Strakosha kept it out. His replacement made much more of an impact when substituted. Five
