Former BBC Advisers Undergo MPs' Grilling Following Allegations of Prejudice in Leaked Memorandum
We start with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, who oversees the committee.
She opens by giving details to the leaked document written by Michael Prescott and released in a national newspaper.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, fair and fair," he states.
When asked if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott replies: "No I don't. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC does is world class - including informative and fictional content."
However, he continues: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation consultant examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "continuous process and active debate" on evolving and intricate subjects.
"Whether the BBC was prepared to conduct a genuine conversation and debate and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "In my view, indeed, they were."
