Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
