The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that attracts so many people into the National Football League
That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but are they the best?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to victory
The defense is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the same problem) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two before the upcoming major meeting between the two in LA
They've both won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly two of the top teams in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three scores and adding another 42 {receiving yards
